Buenas!

Core rules.

General Rules :
1) The language of the WFTF is English. All documentation must be published in this language.
2) The WFTF World Championships are only open to shooters from NGB/RGB's who are members of the WFTF
3) There will be no rule changes in the 6 month period before the shoot. Rules that are to be discussed for changes must be submitted in the 3 month period after the last shoot.
4) There should be a free supply of air up to 300 bar at all times before practice and competition.

Competition structure rules
1) The event will be 4 days. 1 day of preparation 3 days of competition.
2) Teams shall be no less than 4 and no more than 8 shooters.
3) Team scores shall consist of the best 4 scores of team members of the day. Total team scores shall be the 3 days team scores added together.

Course rules
1) No smoking on the course.
2) No mobile phones on the course (except marshalls).
3) No spectators within 3m of the firing line
4) No assistants to shooters unless the shooter is disabled. (Junior shooters to be worked out further)
5) No shooter can shoot without a timer and a marker being present, however these duties can be carried out by the same person. This person must be independent of the shooter and their country.
6) No competitor is allowed to leave the course without the permission of a marshal. If they do then they are deemed to have finished the course for that day.

Target rules
1) The course shall be 50 targets, 2 targets per lane only.
2) Each lane shall be shot in one designated position only.
3) The targets shall be between 8m and 50m. Targets bordering on the minimum and maximum permissible range shall be measured by tape measure prior to the event. Rangefinders are not considered accurate enough.
4) Targets must be sprayed clean before shooting commences each day.
5) Any obstruction to a target must be cleared only by a marshal, but obstructions can only be removed if they are not of a permanent nature. (for example leaves or twigs that have fallen in front of a target are acceptable for removal, moving a tree or earth bank is not). Timing will be ceased at the moment an obstruction is noted and a marshal called for and resumed once the situation has been resolved.
6) Any target deemed to be malfunctioning must be reported as soon as a problem has been perceived to have occured. Timing will cease and only resume once the matter is resolved.(needs to be expanded upon for disputes)
7) Any report (bang) from a muzzle will be considered an attempt on a target, unless the shooter designates it will not be and reports this to their partner/s. If a shot is not to be designated as an attempt it must not pass beyond 5m downrange.
Targets must be numbered. Numbers must be distinct against a background colour the same as the targets they are numbering, and repeated on the string anchor on the lane.

9) Target numbers must be within 25cm of the target and visible from the shooting position.
10) Positional targets must be clearly marked in English on the firing line and clearly visible to the shooter in the lane.
11) A partner is allowed to warn a shooter that they may not be shooting in a correct position, but this is not a requirement.

Timing rules
1) The time limit for each lane is 2.5 minutes, starting when the lane is addressed.
2) One partner is elected to time the shooter. If another partner is present they will be designated to mark the score card
3) If for any reason timing has to be stopped it is only resumed once the target is readdressed.

Scoring rules
1) A fallen target designates a hit and is marked with an X. A target that fails to fall is to be marked with a 0. Where there is a dispute, a marshal is to be called (expand on dispute resolution)
2) All scores must be marked with a pen. Any mistake must be countersigned by a marshal.
3) Any dispute with scoring must be resolved before leaving the lane. The decision of the chief marshal is final.

Equipment rules

1) All forms of clothing are permissible. Clothing must be used as it was intended.
2) A single rifle sling that attaches to the rifle in a permanent manner is permitted as a means of steadying the aim.
3) All items that could be considered an aid to the shooting position must be permantly and solidly attached to the rifle. They may be adjusted, but not removed or attached. (bits of string attaching things arent acceptable and are deemed a hindrance to safe shooting)
4) Adjustments to rifle stocks can only take place within the timing period. If timing has not commenced then adjustment of the rifle commences timing. Adjustment can only take place in the lane.
5) All items that could be considered an aid to determining wind direction and strength must be permanently attached to the rifle.
6) No anenometers or rangefinders shall be allowed on the course.
7) Any competitor found using a mobile phone on the course will have the device removed for the duration of the event during competition periods. A subsequent infringement will see the disqualification of the shooter. Where a shooter requires a mobile for a possible emergency, these should be left with a marshall.
The maximum height for any form of seating is 150mm, including any backrest and measured in a compressed state, between two rigid boards.
9) Elbow and knee pads Max thickness 30mm
10) Power limit is 12Ft/Lbs using the competitors competition pellets

Marshalling rules
1) There shall be a minimum of 5 marshals per competition in addition to a chief marshal and two chrono marshals.
2) They should communicate via radio or mobile phone.

Safety rules

1) Rifles must be carried muzzle up or down off the firing point. Rifles not capable of being carried as such must carry a device to stop a pellet from being expelled from the muzzle.
2) Rifles must be placed on the line when not in use, facing down range.
3) Free drinking water should be available at beginning, middle and end of course as a minimum.
4) Male and female toilets (or unisex with sterilized seat and hand wipes & fluid/spray) should be placed at beginning, middle and end of courses.
5) A basic medical kit should be placed at beginning, middle and end of courses.
6) A trained first aider should be present at all times when any shooting is in progress.
7) One whistle blow means all the course stops shooting (expand for broken line courses and what to do with shots when a cease is called), two blasts resume.
Only marshals can call shooting to resume.
9) No one shall cross the firing line without a cease fire being called and a verbal confirmation of 'clear' from every shooter on the line. A 2nd marshal shall take over the role of marshalling the line, and ensure the safe return of all that crossed the line. No shooter shall cross the line unless accompanied by two marshals (expand on dispute section)
10) No resume shall be called until all parties are behind the line and the line marshal has confirmed as such.

- Power limit is 12Ft/Lbs - YES
- using the competitors competition pellets – NO.

How many brands and weights of pellets there are? Too many.
How can an organization know/be sure the pellet weight the shooter is using? Based on what the shooters says?

There should be predefined pellets for measure (based on common weights) and they should be provided by the organization.
That’s the only way to make sure there are no surprises.
