Buenas!
Una sucinta explicación de como va a ir el registro de participantes, poco más o menos:
Hi Jordi !
There is no easy answer to the 2012 worlds, but I hope the following helps...
Shooter registration does NOT have to be done in block. Before we accept a registration however, we check with the RGB representative(s). Once they approve the shooter's application, he/she will be listed as registered (but read on...)
Here's the dilemna...because we are limited to 150, everyone must understand that a degree of common sense amongst our member RGB's is necessary !
Only 16 teams from a possible 29 were represented in Italy. Team membership was an average of 6.5 shooters per team. If we get the same turn out in 2012, that will account for 104, leaving 56 spare places which should be divided fairly (?) amongst RGB's wishing to send more than 6.5 shooters. With me so far ? Norway will of course be represented ... let's say 6 (six) ... leaving now 50.
After a lot of hard work by certain individuals Sweden, hopefully, will by then be a member, sending 6 ... leaving now 44 places.
The big players....England, Russia, Poland, Germany, Hungary and to an extent South Africa would, I assume, will be expecting to field a lot more than 6.5 shooters.
By my arithmetic 44 divided by 6 = an additional 7.3 shooters for each of these RGB's making their total 13.8 (or 14 for arguments sake...). If the balance of 13 RGB's want to come to Norway and wish to send a team...we're screwed (agarrado por los cojones !) - sabe ?
We are aware of the fact that one RGB has booked 17 people into a hotel already (!), and another is asking us to reserve preliminarily reserve 25-30 places.... perhaps a little less caffeine is called for here !
Hope this helps Jordi ! .... see you and 12.8 of your colleagues here next year ;o)
Andy
PS
I have asked advice from our membership regarding moving the registration and payment dates forward - and have yet received no suggestions.
Estonia had kindly offered to assist us with a comprehensive computer registration system, which I thought was extremely kind. Having looked at the forum boards, and considering the fine balance of what we are now undertaking, I feel it would be somewhat unfair to Estonia to bear the brunt of such an exercise.
